Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration

Celebrate the life and legacy of MLK alongside the entire family at the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration in the Gardens. The Myriad Botanical Gardens in downtown Oklahoma City hosts a variety of family-friendly activities that honor Dr. King’s historic message.
“Formal” programming from 10 – 11:30 am: Join us as we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. along with local community leaders. Ward 7 Councilwoman Nikki Nice will share updates on the Clara Luper Freedom Center, Society of Urban Poets will perform original poetry readings, DWe Williams and Ebony Voices will share the history of Dr. King and the civil rights movement through song, dance, and skit. More programming to be announced.
“Informal” programming from 11:30 am – 1 pm: Read-alouds, crafts and activities, student groups, and more.
