Yay Dude is all about celebrating, so celebrating young people getting to play a sport they love in college…we’re all in. We present five players to keep an eye on as they take the leap from high school to college level.

JORDAN MUKES | FOOTBALL –SAFETY –CHOCTAW HIGH SCHOOL TO OKLAHOMA

Three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and track and field, Mukes was an early enrollee at OU and saw time in the Spring Game. At 6’4”, he’s a new breed of defensive back that Alex Grinch loves.

JADEN BRAY | FOOTBALL –WIDE RECEIVER–NORMAN HIGH SCHOOL TO OKLAHOMA STATE

Also an early enrollee, but in Stillwater. Jaden was listed at 6’3”, 195, but during the spring game it appears he’s continuing to grow. Could he be the next in a long line of feature receivers? Maybe.

TERIN RITZ | SOFTBALL –PITCHER –DEER CREEK HIGH SCHOOL TO UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA

Terin Ritzisan All-State selection and was this fall named Class 6A-1 Player of the Year. A pitcher and first baseman, she hit 44 career home runs for Deer Creek, posted a .497 batting average, and had over 300 strikeouts.

BIJAN CORTES | BASKETBALL –POINT GUARD –KINGFISHER HIGH SCHOOL TO OKLAHOMA

Bijan Cortes has only lost two regular season games since his freshman year while boasting 78 wins. He won a state championship in 2019.Cortes plays in the Amateur Athletic Union with TeamGriffin, named after former Sooner standout Blake Griffin.

HALEY BLEVINS |  GOLF –EDMOND NORTH HIGH SCHOOL TO OKLAHOMA CHRISTIAN

Haley Blevins relocated to Edmond from Alabama to find a better level of golf competition. Since, she has won three tournaments this year, earnedAll-Conference honors in the Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference, and won a 6A State Individual Championship.
