Owner Ed Wrenn in the lobby of his newest concept, The Lounge in NE Edmond.

Some nights just call for something special. Low lights. Conversation. Intimate, cozy. That’s the concept behind Ed Wrenn’s third restaurant, The Lounge Craft + Cocktails located at 3601 E. 2nd in Edmond, just shy of I-35 at the corner of the strip center formerly held by Livegrass.

Wrenn deconstructed the space and reimagined it with classic Hollywood vibes thanks to the creativity and ethos of Modern Whimsy by Kellie Clements and her team.  It’s a mix of modern and vintage with a gorgeous fireplace as the focal point and special touches like a rotary phone and a “grandma” chair we all knew growing up. Clements likes surprises in her designs, too, like the whimsical “partying monkeys” wallpaper in the bathroom.

The Lounge is a locally-owned family business (daughter Brittany and son-in-law Jacob Raines are also managers) in a trio of popular Edmond eateries: Eddie’s (and the Eddie’s Event Center next door), located at 2nd and Coltrane known for its American fare like burgers and award-winning wings, but house favorites like the lasagna and pasta dishes keep Edmondites coming back for more. The popularity of Eddie’s wings, which come in sauced and dry rub varieties, prompted the boutique bar and wing joint called Hott Wings, located at the Edmond Railyard in downtown Edmond. Both Eddie’s and Hott Wings host “Wing Wednesday” every Wednesday with .75 cent each wings. The Lounge, which opened this April, is the luxe little sister, then, with American fare with flair and a back bar that boasts 100 bourbons.
